IBLANC at CMB Company Day: “Digital advancement on construction sites: innovations in the construction sector”
Digital innovation in construction is often judged by the sophistication of the technology behind it. But for new tools to make an impact, another question matters just as much: do they fit the way construction professionals actually work?
That was the focus on 8 May 2026, when INBLANC partner CMB hosted its Company Day, “Digital advancement on construction sites: innovations in the construction sector,” at the Best Western Hotel Le Favaglie in Cornaredo, Milan.
The full-day event brought together CMB staff and selected external partners, including architects and engineers working with the company, to explore the digital tools being developed within INBLANC and to gather their feedback as professionals who could ultimately use them.
Putting six digital building services to the test
During the session, INBLANC experts Andrea Vanossi and Luca Del Favero introduced the INBLANC platform and the six digital building services currently under evaluation: Energy Services, BIM Service, Comfort and Health, Renovation Support, Space as a Service and BIM2Struct.
Rather than limiting the event to a presentation of the technology, CMB turned the session into an active consultation exercise.
Participants were invited to complete a questionnaire examining the services from the perspective of different professional roles across the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) value chain. Targeted questions were used to understand how the tools connect with existing workflows and how relevant the proposed services could be for their future users.
The response was substantial. Of the 65 people participating in the event, 52 completed the questionnaire, providing INBLANC with a structured body of feedback from stakeholders.
The feedback collected by CMB will now be analysed and brought back into the INBLANC consortium. This gives researchers and technology developers direct insight into how future users assess the services and where their priorities lie.
The objective is not simply to validate technology after development. It is to create a feedback loop between research, digital tool development and real-world construction practice.
Bringing architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders into the conversation, INBLANC is working to ensure that its digital services are shaped not only by what technology can deliver, but also by what the AEC ecosystem actually needs.
